Technical translation

Traditional translations:
When translating technical documentation you want to be rest assured that the translated text and the original text have the same content and meaning. D&TS can give you this guarantee, because it only works with native speakers. In other words, translators that translate into their mother tongue. D&TS also requires that they have a technical background. D&TS can offer you translations in about 50 different languages.

Database translations:
TRADOS is an intelligent translation database, often used in large-volume translations. This is because technical documentation contains many repetitions of sentences and even entire paragraphs. With TRADOS sentences that have been translated and stored in a database (or memory) and can be used again and again. This results in a guaranteed consistent translation quality and cost savings up to 35 % of the original translation rate.

Database translations with TRADOS


TRADOS and cost savings:
TRADOS works in two ways:
1. It stores languages combinations, and;
2. It allows the user to use the stored bilingual sentences again.

Example English-Dutch:
A text that needs to be translated is first analysed with TRADOS and compared with the translations in the database:

source text: "Turn the machine off".
Stored translation: "Zet de machine af".

Since this combination is already available in the database (or translation memory) and it is 100% match between source and target language, we only charge 25% of the normal translation rate (in this case 14 Eurocents per word).
